| Presently 2000 patients are
registered with the hospital. The Hospital has capacity
to serve 30 patients in a single shift. A Comprehensive
programme has been taken up to collect blood for the registered
patients of the hospital and for other patients also.
This programme will facilitate the patients to get regular
blood for transfusion. |

BTH has developed facilities to serve 30 patients
at a time. This facilities need to be further developed
as the number of patients are swelling up every
month. |

For
safe transfusion of blood |

Different
tests el. HBsAG, HCV, HIV and VDRL are done in the
Hospital Laboratory setup with most modern computerized
equipment for safe transmission of blood. Besides,
the hospital is careful to wash the blood before
transfusion to avoid side effect like fever and
other complications. |

Since a programme has been taken
up for collection of blood for the thalassaemia
patients, the BTH has setup a blood bank with foreign
assistance for preservation of blood for our patients.
The blood bank need to be developed further. |
